Loving to read and write as I grew up in Plymouth, Michigan made me long to live in a library. Instead, I become an English major at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and followed that with an M.A. at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and a teaching certificate.

 

Teaching English took me from high school classrooms in Illinois to the campus of the University of Kansas. When we moved to California in 2009, I taught middle school humanities and second to fifth grade general studies in a small private school.

 

Now that I'm semi-retired, I’m rediscovering the joys of writing poetry and fiction. I am lucky to live in Pasadena, California with my husband, where we find time to travel and to see our family.
